Even though peaceful anarchy is not reachable, it should be allowed to think, talk, write and publish about that ideal.

Anything that is purely information doesn't harm anyone.

Drawing and writing anything online should be allowed.

Even if someone writes "Kill all Germans.", so what? Somebody else will write "Don't kill all Germans."

Even drawing naked children should be allowed like it is in Japan. Doesn't that in fact help harm the market for actual child raping and filming? Even that material should be considered evidence *of* the crime rather than the crime itself.

What else in extreme cases did I forget? My overall point remains: Allow all writings and drawing on the Internet. Completely free flow of information. This isn't even anarchy. This is just a logical extension of the Free Speech argument from classical liberalism.

39 2023-12-02 18:07

>>38

Doesn't that in fact help harm the market for actual child raping and filming?

No, it creates a demand for an acquired paraphilia in the same way that other pathological paraphilia have exploded since the advent of social media and Tumblr. Sure, most people will keep it private and internally wired, but there is a sizeable minority that will actually try to act upon it. Not to mention that a slightly larger minority will attempt to manifest a slow creep towards toleration and acceptance of the same.
I personally believe in uncircumscribed creative freedom *despite* this, but minimizing the actual effect does not help legitimate classical liberal norms.

Thenword "anti-semitism" is losing impact, and the kikes are responsible for it with their public genocide. They still try to make it sound like a big deal, they still invoke it whenever someone criticizes them. But the wheels of history are turning, and the public is shifting from a horror of antisemitism to a more healthy suspicion of kikes. Now, instead of anitsemitism, we'll be talking about the bad stuff that jews have done. It's been out in the open for a while, now we just need to keep these awareness in the mainstream, and maybe the world that the kikes work so hard to mantain will continue to crumble and die.

71 2024-01-15 13:53

Of course, the word kikes can only be said in safe spaces. With cattle you need to say 'jews', and tactfully question the stuff that has been promoted by the "jews", such as genocide and war.

Criticizing heads of state, and actual mass murderers, is always appropriate. Mixing that up with racism is just an excuse to have a scapegoat for your own failures. America did one successful genocide already and ran out of Amerindians to point fingers at, so now European traditions like antisemitism are back in vogue, but even if you did the perfect holocaust and ran out of semites to anti-, you'd be back at square one looking for another substitute scapegoat.

How about we skip right to blaming the Irish?

What about the thousands of examples Christians who murder other Christians every day?

Are they actually Christians, as in, do they either have fervent faith in their religion or obey either the spirit or letter of Christianity? Are they ethnically Christian? I'll save the trouble: no and no. Anyone can become a Christian and be recognized as such by other Christians; nobody that is not ethnically Jewish can become a Jew to all Jews.

What about all the Jews that didn't do such bad things?

Do you blame the soldier ant workers for the behavior of the sentinels? Yes, you do, because they form a stigmergic mass that has decentralized coordination. If you don't remove the queen and the workers, they'll reproduce new sentinels.
Say what you will about the Catholic Church (or even temple Judaism), but if you destroy the Vatican and its inhabitants, the Catholic Church ceases to exist, as the lineage and continuity that underpins the legitimacy of its heritage has been destroyed. The ant hill can be destroyed, the queen killed, and the colony will end.
Rabbinic Judaism and deracinated Jews do not fit this mold. They are army ants. So long as the queen, that is the Talmud and Pentateuch, exists, any Jew can rediscover their "heritage" of victimhood, separation, and the permitted exploitation of gentiles.

Are you going to give them the maximum punishment, too? How would you feel about being murdered as a punishment just for being a Christian, atheist, white or whatever?

There has never been a time in history more anti-racist than the present, with broad development and legitimacy obtained by ethnically-tolerant whites and Christians. Minorities didn't "win" these rights, but were *given* them. Similarly, slavery was broadly extinguished from the planet by willing European Christians over the pleas of the non-European and non-Christian nations.
And there's the ultimate irony: the Ashkenazim's existence in the West has *always* been one of perennial guest underpinned by Catholic, Christian, and European charity, with ample invitation to integrate. Yet history perennially demonstrates that Jews are voluntarily ethnically separate and will never reciprocate the hand extended to them and will instead abuse their hosts until they respond. Then they use this response as further justification for separation and abuse, adding it to the tome of victimhood, perennially repeated and celebrated for all time (Boo, Haman! Boo, Hitler!). And there's the rub: the predicates of Ashkenazim existence in the West and in Israel are fundamentally jeopardized by the fading away of Christianity and ethnic Europeans. The world will not tolerate the Jewish people as Christian Europeans did.
The tragedy of anti-racism, amply embraced by Jews in the West to create a multicultural environment to nominally prevent another shoah by an exclusive ethnic hegemon, is that the logical conclusion of anti-racism is the extermination of the Jews as a people because they, as a totality, will never join the melting pot that everyone else has been forced to jump in.
It won't be ethnic Europeans that exterminate the Jewish people in the name of racial purity, but the de-Christianized "race of the future" that will exterminate the Jewish people for precisely the opposite goal: racial impurity. The logic that demonizes the existence of National Socialism (which is German Zionism by any other name) *must* inevitably demonize Zionism itself. And all too late, as events since October 7th have shown, will the Jewish people recognize that they sold the rope that will be used to hang them.

Josef Schuster, President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, described the protests as restoring Jews' faith in German democracy, which had been damaged following antisemitism during the Israel–Hamas war.

Violent extermination and resettlement of ethnic minorities to establish a pure ethnic homeland? Fine if in Israel and to attack it is antisemitic.

Use the democratic process to peacefully build a resettlement policy for people with homelands to return to?, guaranteeing a homeland for ethnic Germans? Antisemitic and a resurgence in Nazism.

It's all so tiresome.

The punch line here is... remember what my husband said about the golf cart we saw? GEM makes carts that seat five in addition to the driver, with a higher seating position and open sides or optionally large doors for faster board/deboard. Even with the 25mph stock speed limiter for NEV/LSV regulatory compliance (and believe me, with some adjustments to the motor controller they can go faster), I suspect that switching the Loop entirely to GEMs would increase its total capacity. And the GEMs honestly suck, in the world of light electric vehicles. They just kind of pulled off a regulatory capture move and got the NEV rules written to pretty much require something that sucks as much as they do for street legality.

Subjective Experience
So as I said, this is not a review, just trying to focus on some things of interest to transit, communications, and policy dweebs. Which I assume pretty much describes my core readers. But I do want to point out a couple of oddities that add to the "wow, this is cheap" sensation:

The ride is surprisingly rough, even in a Model Y with highway-grade suspension. I am concerned that they may not be able to do much better when paving in the confined tunnels, given that I don't think standard paving equipment would fit in the loading gauge. The ride experience was not "oooo electric car luxury," it was more on par with the Orlando Airport APM100s with sketchy steering gear.

For the segment that requires tickets (to Resorts World), the ticketing system is based on a QR code. The customer-side implementation is fine enough, but the ticket checking is laughable. It's an iPad where you have to show a QR code to the front-facing camera, meaning you have to present the QR code with your phone facing away from you, looking at the image on the iPad for alignment. It is very awkward and there is no reason for it besides cheapness. Plus there's not really any way for the attendant to see if the ticket is valid without standing awkwardly close to you to look at the same iPad screen you are, and indeed, I accidentally scored a free ride by merit of the attendant's inability to see the actual result of the ticket check.

The stations are not especially well thought out. People walking in and out of the stations have to cross the path of the Loop vehicles in some places. The attendants are supposed to direct people and, for trips to Resorts World, collect fare, but the design of some stations lacks a chokepoint at which to do so. The attendants have to kind of chase people down after they've already walked straight to a vehicle.

The tunnel to Resorts World is one-way. Its portal is connected to the West LVCC station by a tunnel, but the station and the Resorts World portal are actually in the same parking lot. They seem to have adopted a practice of cars one way going through the tunnel, and cars the other way just driving... across the parking lot. This is very funny to experience and contributes a lot to the feeling that the Loop is only marginally an underground system. I doubt the original designers intended for this outcome, it seems like the money spent on the connecting tunnel was completely wasted, but I'm assuming that eliminating one segment of single-track tunnel helped with throughput. Their approach to managing traffic at the Resorts World portal also involves a sort of approach-pattern-esque architecture where every car has to drive in a circle around the portal before entering, which is funny.

This stuff matters in my mind because it gets to the question of what the Loop... is for? The capacity of the Loop is very low. The expansion plan calls for a lot of tunnels, doubled up for capacity in places, but targets only 90k passengers per day. That would put it at around 8x the current daily ridership of the monorail, but with a vastly larger network of stations. Presumably they will expand fare collection, and I would have to think that tickets will actually become fairly expensive. so it's probably not intended to be a high-capacity, low-cost option.

So what else could it be? Well, some press and discussion around the Loop figures it as more of a luxury option: something that casinos can comp for high rollers, that will spare people dealing with the general disaster of getting around the strip. But it also doesn't feel like that. The outdoor stations, need to quickly board and deboard a sedan, and general chaos level of the stations (i.e. attendant chasing you down for ticket) make it feel more "courtesy car" than "black car."

I don't know, they could totally dress it up a bit and make it feel fancier. Some paint here and there, train the attendants better, do more to direct traffic. They could! But right now I think the best way to describe the Las Vegas Loop is... "cheap and amateurish." Surprisingly fitting with the Las Vegas vibe, in a way.

Artists Score Major Win in Copyright Case Against AI Art Generators
The court declined to dismiss copyright infringement claims against the AI companies. The order could implicate other firms that used Stable Diffusion, the AI model at issue in the case.

Artists suing generative artificial intelligence art generators have cleared a major hurdle in a first-of-its-kind lawsuit over the uncompensated and unauthorized use of billions of images downloaded from the internet to train AI systems, with a federal judge allowing key claims to move forward.

U.S. District Judge William Orrick on Monday advanced all copyright infringement and trademark claims in a pivotal win for artists. He found that Stable Diffusion, Stability’s AI tool that can create hyperrealistic images in response to a prompt of just a few words, may have been “built to a significant extent on copyrighted works” and created with the intent to “facilitate” infringement. The order could entangle in the litigation any AI company that incorporated the model into its products.

Claims against the companies for breach of contract and unjust enrichment, plus violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act for removal of information identifying intellectual property, were dismissed. The case will move forward to discovery, where the artists could uncover information related to the way in which the AI firms harvested copyrighted materials that were then used to train large language models.

Karla Ortiz, who brought the lawsuit, has worked on projects like Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok and is credited with coming up with the main character design for Doctor Strange. Amid the rise of AI tools in the production pipeline, concept artists like Ortiz are taking stock of further displacement down the road if the tech advances and courts side with AI firms on certain intellectual property questions posed by the tools.

Widespread adoption of AI in the moviemaking process will depend largely on how courts rule on novel legal issues raised by the tech. Among the few considerations holding back further deployment of the tech is the specter of a court ruling that the use of copyrighted materials to train AI systems constitutes copyright infringement. Another factor is that AI-generated works are not eligible for copyright protection.

The lawsuit, filed last year, revolves around the LAION data set, which was built using 5 billion images that were allegedly scraped from the internet and utilized by Stability and Runway to create Stable Diffusion. It implicated Midjourney, which trained its AI system using the model, as well as DeviantArt for using the model in DreamUp, an image generation tool.

On dismissal, Stability and Runway challenged the artists’ arguments that it induced copyright infringement and that the Stable Diffusion models are themselves infringing works. Under this theory, they induced infringement by distributing the models when any third-party uses the models provided by the company, exposing it to potentially massive damages.

Siding with artists, Orrick concluded that they sufficiently alleged that Stable Diffusion is built off of copyrighted material and that the “way the product operates necessarily invokes copies or protected elements of those works.” In a finding that could spell trouble for AI companies that used the model, he said that Stability and Runway could’ve promoted copyright infringement and that Stable Diffusion was “created to facilitate that infringement by design.”

When it dismissed infringement claims last year, the court found that the theory of the case was “unclear” as to whether there are copies of training images stored in Stable Diffusion that are then utilized by DeviantArt and Midjourney. It pointed to the defense’s arguments that it’s impossible for billions of images “to be compressed into an active program,” like Stable Diffusion.

Following the dismissal, the artists amended one of the prongs of their lawsuit to claim that Midjourney separately trained its product on the LAION data set and that it incorporates Stable Diffusion into its own product.

In another loss for the AI companies, the court rebuffed arguments that the lawsuit must identify specific, individual works that each of the artists who filed the complaint alleges were used for training.

“Given the unique facts of this case — including the size of the LAION datasets and the nature of defendants’ products, including the added allegations disputing the transparency of the ‘open source’ software at the heart of Stable Diffusion — that level of detail is not required for plaintiffs to state their claims,” the order stated.

In a May hearing, DeviantArt warned that several other companies will be sued if the artists’ infringement claims against firms that simply utilized Stable Diffusion and had no part in creating it survives dismissal.

“The havoc that would be wreaked by allowing this to proceed against DeviantArt is hard to state,” said Andy Gass, a lawyer for the company. “Here, we really have an innumerable number of parties no differently situated than [us] that would be subject to a claim.”

Gass added that DeviantArt “didn’t develop any gen AI models” and that “all [it’s] alleged to have done is take StabilityAI’s Stable Diffusion model, download it, upload it and offer a version DreamUp to users.”

The court also stressed that Midjourney produced images similar to artists’ works when their names were used as prompts. This, along with claims that the company published images that incorporate plaintiffs’ names on its site showcasing the capability of its tool, served as the basis for allowing trademark claims to move forward. It said that whether a consumer would be misled by Stability’s actions into believing that artists endorsed its product can be tested at a later stage of the case.

In a thread on Discord, the platform where Midjourney operates, chief executive David Holz posted the names of roughly 4,700 artists he said that its AI tool can replicate. This followed Stability chief executive Prem Akkaraju saying that the company downloaded from the internet troves of images and compressed them in a way that can “re-create” any of those images.

In discovery, lawyers for the artists are expected to pursue information related to how Stability and Runway built Stable Diffusion and the LAION data set. They represent Sarah Andersen, Kelly McKernan and Ortiz, among several others.

Reality and expectations diverge. What you were sold is not what got delivered.

Democracy is a cover-up for the true government to operate in peace.

Can you count how many times people voted for 'change' but got short-changed instead? Don't get upset about it.

The French are wondering what happened to their pensions. The Americans wonder whether their government is simply an Annex for the Israeli government. The European Union only keeps getting bigger and more bureaucratic. The Chinese people can only choose to look the other way than at all the mass-genocides that keep happening. Russians and Ukrainians are at a war that was orchestrated by NATO.

All these governments and organisations claim to be 'democratic'.

Actions taken by governments which claim to be 'democratic' against the people who reveal their dirty secrets only show what their true intentions are behind the 'democracy' facade.

What does a democracy have to keep secrets for anyway?

Democracy can be only a label, of course.
The degree to which it is actually implemented is to be judged on a continuous spectrum.

By the way, the utopian ideals at the good end of this spectrum would probably not democratic, but something like everyone is fruendly to eachother without being forced to, but in this real present world, we have to be glad, if there is some bottom-up control in place of would be tyrants.

By the way, the utopian ideals at the good end of this spectrum would probably not [be] democratic, but something like everyone is friendly to each other without being forced to, but in this real present world, we have to be glad, if there is some bottom-up control in place of would be tyrants.

There is no hope for even a semblance of bottom-up control in any of these so-called democracies, even in the 'free world'. The closest form of bottom-up control is mass protests, which oftentimes goes unnoticed in the true corridors of power and is usually concluded by a few reassuring speeches and gestures by the elected government. All this while, the main cause of discontent is carried out thoroughly, albeit delayed for a short while. Remember the Vietnam war protests and the recent French pension reform protests? What did those protests yield really?

At this point someone might point out that some protests have yielded a change in the direction of the government's actions. Those cases leave even stronger evidence that the true government only acts on what aligns with its aims. In other words, you cannot stop it from doing what it wants neither can you force it to do what it does not want.

In the end, the voting process becomes a polite reminder of the people's surrender of power to the government. The true government, on the other hand outlasts the voted representatives and remains untouchable by the public.
