Scheme Revival Project

1 2022-05-04 15:59

Here we come up with a masterplan to make Scheme the most popular and widely used programming language.

Scheming for a scheme scheme

3 2022-05-05 12:33

We need to hire Johnny Depp as the spokesman for Scheme. His fee is only US$60 million for about two months of work.

4 2022-05-05 14:31

We need to make a memorable Super Bowl ad.

We need to force bosses into using Scheme for their company's next big project.

We need to ensure that Scheme is the first and only programming language learned by kindergartners and elementary schoolers.

We need to hire public relations firms to promote the superiority of Scheme.

We need to elect politicians who can influence national legislation in favor of Scheme.

We need to acquire sovereign land to establish the Scheme Republic.

We need to establish the Scheme Intelligence Service to coordinate these activities.

5 2022-05-05 14:35

On a more serious note, one could increase the use of Scheme by writing and publishing portable R7RS libraries. cond-expand is useful for this.

Schemers screaming scheme schemer's schemes!

Start negotiations with the leaders of other Lisps, encouraging them to submit to the glory of Scheme and make necessary changes to their language to become compatible with Scheme. That would mark the start of the First United Scheme Era. The Scheme Intelligence Service should then establish an inquisition to hunt down heretics who create their own schismatic implementations of "Scheme".

why lisp and not lithp?

9 2022-05-08 13:00

Finish R7RS. Anyone can help by developing, commenting and improving on SRFIs or contributing implementations to existing Scheme projects.

10 2022-05-08 13:11

>>9
Why bother with R7RS when we could start work on R∞RS right now?

11 2022-05-08 16:54

>>10
Because ∞ does not exist.

12 2022-05-08 21:18

I am a python.

We need to make a Scheme blobber using the Berlin Interpretation of roguelikes.

14 2024-01-23 13:58

>>13
I am unaware of any roguelike written in Scheme and too lazy to google!

15 2024-01-23 14:01

This has been a dream of mine. Make a scheme engine that is viewport agnostic and then create a single game that can be played as an ARPG by diablofying and creating an autoturn incrementer, a blobber by initiating turn-based random encounters when enemies are adjacent, and a traditional Berlin roguelike, and a FPS by diablofying and using the blobber display.

16 2024-01-24 12:39

Start an open source engine project that faithfully implements the Grand Theft Auto 4 game.

I have learned a new word
