I use Ledger for my personal finances. I like that it is plain text that can be version-controlled using Git.
hledger has mostly the same syntax and command line interface as Ledger. I have read its documentation but never used it. It has a web interface and a curses interface, which could come in handy for letting someone else input transactions if they do not like to use a command line interface.
What are your needs? What do you currently use?
I think GnuCash is good for most people.
