Imagine western standoff where one of the fellas has to have multiple shots to be lethal. A larger cartridge isn't always more lethal though. My Sargent in JROTC said in effect the reason NATO settled on a smaller cartridge is to have it bounce around in the rib cage. He also said something about folks on opioids being able to take a good number of shots.
