If erasure is oppression (and its not always) then the easy way to achieve this is silence, and manipulation. Especially manipulation of incentive structures: "Repeat after me or the best work you'll get is flipping burgers off I-79." It is this restriction of access to power, and control of information which is most damning currently. As an aside neo-Nazis and pedophiles are often used by power when it serves their interests, timely examples are Azov or Epstein.

I think I now have a new perspective on the issue of my original post, and really that was just a temporary lapse in thinking.
