No. Evolution has no agency, things don't evolve with a goal in mind. They simply evolve. If a feature is disadvantageous, the individual bearing it will have less chance to reproduce and pass it on. If it is advantageous, the individual bearing it will have more change to reproduce and pass it on. Therefore the question properly asked would be: "Do you think thinking evolved because it helps solve problems, in order to survive?"
