i recently found out that a friend of mine uses iso/udf for all sorts of things
he sent me a ton of msx stuff, all packaged in iso/udf
looking at the file extensions i thought they were copies of disks
but they were small files, and a lot, then i noticed that he was using it like a tape-archive
iso file as a tarball, i have never seen anybody use it this way
i am shocked, could not even ask why, i was embarrassed...
dear /prog/entlemen, what would be the advantages of this strange choice?
Ask him why, please.
Maybe he is an OSX user. They tend to use .dmg like this.
Just ask your friend, this is /prog/ not /mindreading/.

So it is not just their brains, their files are also .dmg
-ed?
I've done this before as an easy way of sharing files with a VM without giving it any access to the host.

i do not want to look stupid to him ;_;
he may look down on me...

actually, i think you got it right, he is an osx user
but is there any benefit?

Don't be afraid to look stupid. I'm convinced you're totally stupid and you don't seem to mind.

i am stupid, truly
but not enough to want to be said as

Do you know what the Shift key is for?

YES, I KNOW
WHY THE QUESTION?

This is extremely good advice in general. You make the most personal progress when you accept looking stupid and ask questions.
