I played with org-mode
a bit and I find it interesting and much more powerful than .md
, at least to use it for README
files.
Let's discuss org-mode
here.
I tried it for a while, but it annoyed me to no end that even inside of the verbatim block, you have to escape the asterisks. That's the problem with all the markup schemes, and a deal-breaker for me.
Maybe I will forever be a mediocre person, but I cannot see the value in org or in personal note management systems at large... most org fanatics use it for their personal stuff, but I am terribly confused: what are they writing?
I've only seen a couple of productive org outputs; they mostly come in the form of blogs or documentation for emacs projects or emacs centered stuff.
It's a world I've trouble understanding, never take notes beyond what happened today
The only thing that works is a daily note/journal, at least for me
In fact, because of this thread I will attempt to do so again, and I will do so now
org-mode has todo list and time tracking features.

Its time clocking features are more powerful than the simple one provided by timeclock.el.

I use it for the agenda.
