In most other imageboards and textboards, threads and posts are ephemeral. As new threads are created, old threads get deleted. This is bad for the preservation of history and knowledge. Why do most imageboards and textboards like to delete history?
There is worthwhile content on SchemeBBS that deserves to be kept for future reference. SchemeBBS should be commended for being unique in bucking the convention of deleting old threads.

There aren't that many textboards. There are way more imageboards than textboards. Nearly all imageboards delete threads.

Yes, but only for 4chan. Other imageboards are not archived as much.
