How did you first learn programming?

When I was 11 years old, I saw hackers on the internet and wanted to become like them. Promptly I looked up on how to become a hacker and came across an essay hosted on the Chaos Computer Club's website, which offered an elaborate explanation on how to get started. Whomever wrote the essay, stated I should get familiar with Unix-like systems such as Linux and NetBSD/OpenBSD/FreeBSD. Furthermore he recommended familiarizing myself with C and Perl. I tried it out, but never actually managed to do anything with it. I looked up if there is something easier than C and came across Python. I programmed with Pygame and made my own little scripts and games with it. Unsatisfied with Pygame, I tried out doing stuff in proper game engines like Unity. There was a prolonged period of time, where I did game dev stuff. Eventually I came across 4/g/ and went back to C and Linux. This is how I got into programming.
