That's only for RPG Maker XP (2005) and RPG Maker VX (2007). RPG Maker MV (2015) and RPG Maker MZ (2020) use JavaScript instead of Ruby.

Ruby is okay. I think I'd rather be forced to use Ruby at work rather than Python, but alas.

RPG Maker MV seems to be implemented using Qt.
Qt includes an embedded web browser.
My guess is that RPG Maker MV games run in embedded web browsers to achieve cross-platform compatibility.
A web browser environment naturally favors JavaScript over Ruby.
