Marvin Minsky - The Beauty of the Lisp Language

Ok, then let's try and turn this thread around: C is obviously used a generic example, for a non-Lisp language. Fortran, Pascal, Python serve just as well. So then Lisp has something special, somehow, or else why would there be this reverence and respect for it? My suggestion is to calmly examine various ideas and features that various members of the Lisp family have, and list their strengths and problems, how they can be improved and where they came from. That should provide a more civil basis, that shouldn't depress anyone trying to read it.
So, both sides should stop throwing baseless insults at each other, make up names or start provoking the others (although I'm not sure if there's more than 1 person on the Anti-Lisp side here, if that's so forget everything I said).
