Well, it's needless work, mindlessly attacking GNU, using Rust without real reason, with a loose license because copyleft is evil to these people. The Discord link and other garbage is just the icing.
These Rust programmers aren't doing anything innovative. They're simply copying worse-is-better. UNIX and C with ad-hoc formats can and will get worse, with the WWW and JavaScript and Rust using JSON or Protobuffers or whatever garbage someone comes up with next.
The silver-lining here is how this is doing to UNIX weenies exactly what was done to better systems, idiots coming in thinking they know better and replacing everything with worse software, doing less with more, ever less reliable.
