I decided to shut the site down because it was dead and boring, no amount of making these kinds of places is going to restore the internet we once knew and loved. Things change and thats just the way it is, Go create an account on a Mastodon server or use kbin or lemmy, this model is over and dead. going forward you should use federation or decentralization. Urbit Mastodon kbin Lemmy thats where the people are. It's time to move on and i wish everyone the best. Here is the source code for the site if anyone wants to use it.

Is he right, /prog/rammers? Isn't urbit vaporware?

From what I saw the Fediverse is a weird split between extreme leftists ("rms is a fascist that literally kills trans babies!") or extreme technolarpers ("I run all my shit on 9front and I'll defend to the death your right to say nigger"), and additionally a handful of notable twitter refugees here and there.

No, he's not right.
He's complaining that he built a city and because no one lives there, cities are failures. You don't build a city. You build a farm. And once your farm can feed people, then you build out from there.
You don't need the masses, what you need is a group of like minded individuals that are there for actual tangible reasons. And that begins with a single person blogging or coding alone.

The fediverse is just part of the web (activity pub is on w3c, it's a web standard.) It's weird that people think it has some homogeneous culture when they don't say the same things about the rest of the web.
