I like most of the Indian people I've known. A few weren't very good examples of humanity, but hey, who am I to judge? I'm sure as hell not.
Indian-Americans are the richest ethnic group in the US. Literally more likely to be a CEO than shit in the streets. There are a lot of decent people in India as well if for no other reason than because there are a lot of people there.

Really capital flight, and brain drain is only part of a greater issue. Put simply despite their nationalism they still are fundamentally governed by neoliberal ideas which are antithetical to development. Same story in most of the developing world. Ricardo's law of comparative advantage implies that since India is only good at making rice and shitting in the streets, this is what the market unfettered will encourage them to produce.
