Why don't they make self-driving trains instead of self-driving cars? It sounds much easier, they really only can go forward and backward, and the tracks are already full of sensors.
Train engineers are cheaper, maybe? There's also a hard market cap on how many could be sold.
I bet trains could be driven by a single PID controller.
