How to recommend books, or, stop recommending SICP
https://notes.eatonphil.com/recommending-a-book.html
This is not to say that SICP is a bad book or that you should not read it. I just don't think it should ever be suggested to anyone.
Lmao, brainlet whining that he couldn't make it through SICP.

Yikes! Take it easy with the intelligence signalling!
It's ok. I'm here.
SICP is boring, finished first chapter then dropped.

The next edition should have this added to make it more exciting: https://textboard.org/prog/28
toy language
This is a subtle propaganda piece with the ultimate aim of increasing Standard ML's market share at the expense of Scheme.
No valid evidence is provided for his claim. I don't recall physics, or even much math being required to study SICP. SICP requires work, but is relatively well contained. His Goodreads account doesn't have SICP marked as read.
Install MIT/GNU Scheme and read Simply Scheme https://people.eecs.berkeley.edu/~bh/ss-toc2.html
I recommende SCP
