You could start by learning how to capitalize correct.y.

You could program a bot using Scheme to give yourself thousands of likes.

Giving yourself thousands of likes would require creating a lot of accounts.
The Scheme bot has to continuously follow users with the same centers of interests (find them with hashtags) and unfollow users who didn't follow back after a certain time. The bot shouldn't go too fast, you need to emulate an autistic human doing it all by hand. Of course, you should also avoid using the official API : this simple protocol is so efficient that you'll be banned quickly.
In the meantime, automatically create content related to the aforementioned (popular, non obscure) centers of interest by reposting content from the accounts you subscribe to.

>>7 nails it pretty much. Find content that's already popular and steal it while investing the little work as you can. If possible do it without crediting the original source. That obviously depends on how well are able to disguise what you are doing behind the scenes.

Get creative. There is a ton of ways to artificially distort content. It's obviously not easy with images but with text it's happening for a long time. You just need to come up with something clever. Translating the text to chinese and back probably wont cut it anymore these days.
