Then you play RPS in your minds to decide which one wins the right to read what hand the other one will play. But of course as good schemers you can't let it end there so you go one level higher and so on, creating an infinite reflective tower of RPS games.
Don't overpredict. If you can catch their cycle and stay one ahead, you're golden.
Also, cheat. Throw rock, and if they throw paper instantly throw scissors from the rock. And so knowing this, there is a slight geometric vector for advantage.
Figure out their groove and don't overpredict.
