Doesn't seem like a great idea.
What's the big deal? Just change it back if you want or put your firewall to use.
From the README:
SchemeBBS should not directly serve clients, even if it's possible to do so. The HTTP implementation is far too incomplete and you should use your favorite web server as a reverse proxy.
In other words, there's no reason to listen on 0.0.0.0.
